Abingdon County Hall Museum

The museum is situated in the historic, grade 1 listed County Hall built in 1682. The displays tells the story of the people who have lived here from earliest times, the establishment of the Abbey and the development of the town of Abingdon,, which in the 20th century became the home of MG Cars.

Special exhibitions for 2016 include

On display in the attic gallery throughout 2016. Proud Tradition – a display linked to the creation of the Borough Corporation in 1566, featuring the town’s civic collections especially those linked to feasts and festivities from wooden trenchers and pewter plates to silver tankards and punch bowls.
